Progress Photos - November 2005

Even in November there are nice days and the view is always changing. On the 5th November there were a few low clouds on the mountains but it was a lovely, warm sunny day

The 4th November was even warmer like a nice summer day in England! The view down the Valnerina shows the small villages of San Felice and Sant'Anatolia.

Work on the roof! Tiles had been laid over the new wood and steelwork and now a concrete pump was supplying concrete over the steel mesh reinforcing to give a stable roof.

The roof now concreted! At least part of the building is now watertight. It's not quite finished yet. On top of the concrete there will be a waterproof membrane, then insulation and finally the tiles.

The old roof tiles are being sand-blasted clean for re-use in the place where they will be visible from the outside. As many of the old materials as possible are being re-used and these tiles date back to the 1700s. Nice view in the background too!

This is a detail from the fresco that has been found on one of the walls in the Nobile apartment. Unfortunately it it on a wall that has to be divided into 2 bathrooms so we will have to do some more investigation to find out how big the fresco is and how best to keep it intact.
